A cooker or oven 1 includes a combined grill and oven with a vent, extractor or flue 4 to remove cooking fumes from the internal space 20 which is automatically opened by a valve 3 when the oven door 21 is opened, and shut off when the oven door is closed. The valve may be operated via an actuator 5, which may consist of a rod 54 either inside or outside of the cooking compartment. The actuator may be biased against the door by an elastic means such as a helical spring 501 and the valve may consist of a mobile cap or flap 300 connected by a hinge 301 to the casing 2 of the cooker. The end of the actuator which is to come in contact with the door 51 may be coated with a shock-dampening material. |
