An array substrate and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve the contact reliability of a data pad part by forming a data pad electrode to have a groove pattern, thereby improving the reliability of the array substrate. A data line(DL) crosses a gate line(GL) to define a pixel region(P). A data pad part(DP) includes a data pad electrode(DPE) connected to an end portion of the data line and having a groove pattern, and a transparent electrode pattern(DTE) for covering the data pad electrode along the groove pattern. A pixel electrode(PE) is formed in the pixel region. The data pad part includes a gate-insulating layer formed below the data pad electrode, a semiconductor pattern formed on the gate-insulating layer and having the same pattern as the groove pattern, and a passivation layer formed on the data line and having a hole pattern for exposing the data pad electrode. The transparent electrode pattern is contacted with the gate-insulating layer exposed through the groove pattern.
