A display device is provided to enable a spacer to absorb light advancing toward a thin film transistor by forming the spacer having a color for absorbing the light between two substrates, thereby preventing a driving characteristic associated with the switching operation of the thin film transistor from being changed. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) comprises a thin film transistor substrate(50), a counter substrate(100), and a light source part(180) for generating light below the counter substrate. The light generated from the light source part is divided into a transmission light(183) transmitting the thin film transistor substrate and the counter substrate and reflection lights(181,182,184,185) reflected on a black matrix to change the advance path. The reflection lights, which are reflected on the black matrix to advance toward the thin film transistor substrate, are absorbed by a first spacer(150) and a second spacer(160). The second spacer absorbs an incident light advancing toward a channel region(78) among the reflection lights. Accordingly, the second spacer suppresses the change of a driving characteristic associated with a switching operation of a thin film transistor due to the incident light advancing toward the channel region. |
