A method and a device for reducing the emission of Mercury from a fuel combusting device. The method includes injecting the mercury containing fuel to the combusting zone and injecting a mercury oxidizer to the fuel upstream of the combustion device. The combustion device assembly includes a combustion device including a combustion zone (20), the combustion device configured to facilitate an oxidation reaction of mercury, and at least one of a first injection port (23) positioned in the combustion zone, a second injection port (25) positioned downstream of the combustion zone, and a third injection port (16) positioned upstream of the combustion zone, wherein at least one of the injection ports is configured to inject a mixture of mercury oxidizer including MgCl2 and air. Mercury is oxidized and may then be captured in pollution control equipment installed in the gas outlet duct. |
