High temperature component, e.g. a gas turbine blade, comprises a metallic base member (1) composed of a nickel and/or cobalt based alloy, as well as a layer system with an adhesive layer and a heat insulating layer. The latter comprises a thermally grown oxide layer, especially a slowly formed aluminium oxide layer and/or chromium oxide layer, and at least one oxide ceramic layer with a cover layer. The cover layer consists of pyrochlorate. The oxide ceramic layer and the cover layer together are between 50 mu m and 2 mm thick, especially 100-500 mu m thick. |
