A water purifier capable of controlling pondage is provided to allow users to drink fresh and clean water at all times by setting the water purification amount suitable for the number of persons using purified water and controlling the amount of water stored in a water storage tank, thereby preventing the multiplication of bacteria due to the storage of an excess amount of water in the water storage tank. In a water purifier comprising a filter part(1) having a plurality of filters for purifying raw water and a water storage tank(6) for storing water purified through the filter part, a water purifier capable of controlling pondage comprises: a purified water amount detecting unit(10) installed at one side within the water storage tank to detect the amount of purified water stored in the water storage tank; a purified water amount controlling unit(20) enabling a user to select the amount of purified water stored in the water storage tank as occasion demands; a control part(30) connected to the purified water amount detecting unit and the purified water amount controlling unit to compare a set value selected from the purified water amount controlling unit with a purified water amount sensed by the purified water amount detecting unit; and a channel opening-and-closing unit(40) opened or closed by the control part and installed in front of the water storage tank to control water flown into the water storage tank. The filter part sequentially includes a sediment filter(2), a pre-carbon filter(3), a membrane filter(4), and a post-carbon filter(5). Further, the purified water amount detecting unit is a pressure sensor for detecting a pressure of water in the water storage tank.
