METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING DIAMOND TOOL USING HYBRID SPRAY PROCESS

A new method for manufacturing a diamond tool is provided to secure high bonding strength and actual yield without deteriorating the productivity. A method for manufacturing a diamond tool using a hybrid spray process comprises the steps of: preparing a metal bond powder and diamond particles; and coating two types of particles on a surface of the workpiece in the form of a desired tool by simultaneously spraying the metal bond powder onto a workpiece by thermal spray coating and spraying the diamond particles onto the workpiece by cold spray coating. The method comprises maintaining a distance of 30 to 100 mm between a nozzle and the workpiece when spraying the metal bond powder onto the workpiece by thermal spray coating. The method comprises maintaining a linear speed of the diamond particles at a front end of the nozzle to a range of 300 to 800 m/s when spraying the diamond particles onto the workpiece by cold spray coating. The method further comprises additionally performing an annealing treatment at temperatures corresponding to 30 to 60% of a melting temperature(deg.C) of a metal bond after coating the two types of particles.
