An STB capable of receiving a signal at a high symbol rate is provided to enable an SAW filter included into an RF tuner unit to receive a signal in a channel bandwidth more than 9MHz to receive a QAM signal at a high symbol rate more than 7Mbps(Mega Bits Per Second), thereby improving the transmission efficiency of a channel when providing various broadcasting channels to an RF channel. An STB(Set Top Box)(200) for digital cable broadcasting includes a key input unit(201), a memory unit(202), an RF(Radio Frequency) tuner unit(203), a QAM(Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) demodulation unit(204), a demultiplexing unit(205), an MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) decoder(206), an A/V(Audio/Video) output unit(207), and a control unit(208). The RF tuner unit includes an SAW(Surface Acoustic Wave) filter(21). The RF tuner unit selects and outputs a QAM signal in a bandwidth of 9 to 12MHz from a QAM signal in a bandwidth of 47 to 862MHz received by using the SAW filter. The SAW filter can receive a signal in a channel bandwidth more than 9MHz.
