摘要 A method and an apparatus for controlling a rake finger in a closely spaced multipath environment of a mobile communication system are provided to acquire a multipath diversity gain by allocating a plurality of fingers on a close position. An apparatus for controlling a rake finger in a closely spaced multipath environment of a mobile communication system includes a searcher(420), a cluster determination unit(412), a path state setting unit(414), a finger allocation unit(416), and a weight value applying unit(418). The searcher extracts intensity and position information of received multipath signals. The cluster determination unit receives the position information from the searcher, and determines a plurality of paths as the clusters based on the position information. The path state setting unit receives the intensity information of the searcher, and receives the cluster information from the cluster determination unit. The path state setting unit sets a path state based on the intensity information of the path included in the cluster. The finger allocation unit allocates fingers based on the path state information received from the path state setting unit. The weight value applying unit applies a tracking direction weight value base don the path state information received from the path state setting unit.
