A system and a method for searching a mapping table of a flash memory are provided to search the mapping table with hardware to reduce overhead when software is used and increase a mapping table search speed and search efficiency. A system of searching a mapping table of a flash memory(300) includes at least one random access memory(120,130), at least one search engine(140,150) and a controller. The random access memory loads and stores the mapping table stored in the flash memory. The search engine searches data of the mapping table loaded to the random access memory in a hardware manner. The controller controls the operations of the RAM and the search engine.
