A system and a method for managing resources in a wireless communication network are provided to increase the utilization of resources in order to maximize a service provider's interests, to efficiently allocate resources in order to increase user fairness, and to encourage users to increase the utilization of resources voluntarily. A resource manager(12A) in a common node, such as an AP(Access Point) which communicates with a client node(20A), comprises a resource cost calculation part(102) and a resource allocation part(106). The cost calculation part receives the first weight, which is based on the state of a channel allocated to the client node, and the second weight, which is based on the client node user's willingness, from the client node and calculates resource cost for the client node. As the client node calculates the volume of necessary resources in order to optimize the calculated resource cost and makes a request for them, the resource allocation part allocates the requested resources to the client node. |
