A system and a method for relaying an event are provided to support all processes of the event by providing an individual portal service for reserving or relaying the event, and offer a bidirectional event relay service between an event hall and a remote joiner by relaying the event in real-time. An event portal system(100) provides an event service to a client(300-500) in a portal contents style. An event hall system(200) is linked with the event portal system, manages event hall information, and captures an event. Individual portal contents are generated by each event opener and the captured event image is relayed to the client by selection of the client. The event hall system includes a relay camera(22) capturing and transferring the event image to the event portal system, a display unit(23) displaying an image or a message received from the event portal system, a tag(24) attached to a target to be captured and outputting a signal, a receiver(25) recognizing the target by receiving the signal from the tag, and a central processing hub(26) obtaining location information of the target by receiving information from the receiver and controlling the relay camera according to a capturing direction.
