A system and a method for transmitting a text message in a mobile communication network, and a text message converting apparatus therefor are provided to convert characters included into the text message, which the user of a mobile communication terminal wants to transmit, into various sizes and transmit the converted text message, thereby expressing the emotion and intention of the use of the mobile communication terminal variously and minutely. A text message transmitting system includes an SMSC(Short Message Service Center)(250), a conversion text DB(275), and a message converting server(260). The SMSC determines whether a request of a text message converting service is included into a text message received from a calling terminal(210). The text message converting service converts characters included into the text message into a size, which the user of the calling terminal wants, and transmits it. The conversion text DB stores conversion the characters of various sizes composed of special symbols. The message converting server receives and transposes the conversion text of the size, which the user of the calling terminal wants, from the conversion text DB according to a character included into the text message, and transmits the transposed conversion text to a called terminal(285). |
