A compass based on topography is provided to prepare a friction reduction member in a support member connected to a compass pin to reduce the friction with a needle, so that the compass pin exactly indicates a direction. A compass includes a casing(10), an inner part(20), an outer part(30), a meridian indicating member(40), and a cover(50). The casing is used to set a direction and coordinates of a building or a grave. The casing includes a coordinate indicating member and a direction indicating member. The coordinate and direction indicating members are directly engraved in the casing. The inner part has a first pattern member(22) formed in a variety of characteristics or letters. The inner part is fixed to a center of the casing.
