METHOD FOR IMPROVING HIGH-SPEED DOWNLINK OPERATION IN CELL FACH STATE FOR A WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM AND RELATED APPARATUS

A method and an apparatus for improving a CELL_FACH(Forward Access Channel) high-speed downlink function in a wireless communication system are provided to enable a UE(User Equipment) to execute a high-speed downlink function through a dedicated HS-DSCH(High Speed Downlink Shared Channel) and H-RNTI (High Radio Network Transaction Identifier) by improving an RRC(Radio Resource Control) establishment process related to a CELL_FACH high-speed downlink function in a network terminal. In initiating an RRC establishment process, a UE uses the first function, but doesn't use the second function. In this case, the first function is used to allocate a dedicated H-RNTI to the UE so that the UE can carry out a high-speed downlink function on the basis of the dedicated H-RNTI. The second function is used not to allocate the dedicated H-RNTI to the UE.
