The system has a movable panel (23) supporting an energy recovery device e.g. solar water heater, on its upper surface i.e. outer surface. The panel is opened towards the bottom i.e. inner surface, in a manner to permit an operator to access to the recovery device through the interior of a building. The panel has edges that are extended towards the top on three sides of the panel. A flexible joint is arranged between upper parts of the edges and lower surfaces of upper, right and left lateral and lower joints (10, 16-18) of a roof e.g. inclined roof, of the building. An independent claim is also included for a method of installing an energy recovery device on a building.
