The device has a cell comprising a mechanical protection granite lining (1) consisting of a granite tube resisting the crushing force caused by the pressure of the ground. Radioactive waste packets (2) and separators (3) are centrally maintained in the lining by insulating feet (9, 10) arranged in a base part of an annulus (4) between the radioactive waste packets or the separators and the lining. The lining is covered to an exterior by a waterproof stainless metal layer.
