APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING LAMINATE

This invention provides an apparatus for manufacturing a laminate comprising a reinforced fiber base, for use in the manufacture of a composite material by an RTM molding method or a vacuum RTM molding method. The apparatus comprises a bonding device. In the bonding device, two or more reinforced fiber bases each having a resin material on its surface are stacked on top of each other to form a laminate precursor. The layers constituting the laminate precursor are partially bonded to and integrated with each other with the aid of the resin material to produce a laminate. The bonding device comprises an indenter tool and a plate tool disposed opposite to each other. The indenter tool comprises an indenter plate and a plurality of indenters. At least one of the indenter tool and the plate tool has a lifting/lowering function, and at least one of the indenter tool and the plate tool has a heating function. According to the above constitution, the apparatus can continuously manufacture laminates having excellent handleability and shapability.
