<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means where, in a hydrogen-storage alloy used for a nickel-hydrogen battery requiring high output density, high rate properties are remarkably improved by the optimization of the combination of componential elements, and simultaneously, low temperature properties and initial characteristics are improved. <P>SOLUTION: The AB<SB>5</SB>type hydrogen-storage alloy with a CaCu<SB>5</SB>type crystal structure has a composition expressed by general formula RNi<SB>a</SB>Co<SB>b</SB>Al<SB>c</SB>Mn<SB>d</SB>(wherein, R denotes at least two or more kinds of elements selected from rare earth elements including La; and (a), (b), (c) and (d) satisfy, by molar ratio, 3.9≤a≤4.4, and 5.1≤a+b+c+d≤5.45), and 1≤c/d≤1.7 is satisfied in the range of 0.15≤b≤0.35. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
