<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance durability and performance of a polymer electrolyte fuel cell by utilizing advantages of a stainless steel separator and developing stainless steel having more remarkably increased acid resistance than conventional materials. <P>SOLUTION: A stainless steel is created which is made as an austenic stainless steel by making substantially no nickel contained and adding high concentration nitrogen, which leads to remarkably improved corrosion resistance and secured plastic working, and which is made as a clean stainless steel by prescribing the component composition to reduce nonmetallic inclusions, which leads to reduced starting ponits of corrosion, whereby the stainless steel can be utilized as a separator of a polymer electrolyte fuel cell. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
