<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device for a pedestrian capable of covering the front side of a front pillar and the vicinity of a rear end corner part on the top surface side of a hood panel, by smoothly deploying and inflating an airbag. <P>SOLUTION: This airbag device M for the pedestrian stores the airbag in a cowl of a vehicle. The airbag 44 has an upper inflating part 59 covering a top surface of the edge in the lateral direction on the hood panel rear end, and a lower inflating part 45 covering the front side of the front pillar. The lower inflating part 45 has a front end side root part 46 and a body part 47. The body part has an edge part 47b arranged on the rear side of a recessed part 48, a rear extending part 47a extending to the rear side of the root part, and an inflow port 51 of inflating gas to the upper inflating part. The air bag is folded up so that the rear end 44b side of the air bag is approached to the front end 44a side, by placing the edge part 47b of the body part on the rear extending part 47a including the upper inflating part 59, by folding the front end 59a side of the upper inflating part as an outer roll wound on the upper side up to the vicinity of the inflow port 51, after deploying in a flat shape. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
