PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid developer excellent in fixability of toner particles onto a recording medium, keeping a formed toner image clear over a long period of time, and containing a high proportion of particularly environment-friendly components, and to provide an image forming apparatus using such a liquid developer. SOLUTION: The liquid developer consists of toner particles and an insulating liquid containing a fatty acid triglyceride and a fatty acid monoester, wherein a phenolic radical capturing agent having a function to capture radicals is contained in the toner particles.
