PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color discrimination device and a color discrimination method discrminating the color of a reaction surface with high accuracy even if color unevenness arises on the reaction surface in the process of color reaction. SOLUTION: A storage part 5a holds reference data and discrimination information associated therewith. with the reference data expressing respective coordinates of a chromaticity diagram and a frequency corresponding to the number of reference color coordinates corresponding to the coordinates for each of the plurality of reference color coordinates generated on a pixel-by-pixel basis from RGB bit map data on a reaction surface having color-reacted with a gas, and the discrimination information used for discriminating the reaction surface. An operation part 5d generates measurement color coordinates of respective pixels of the map data generated by an imaging part 4. The operation part 5d generates measurement data expressing the respective coordinates of a chromaticity diagram and a frequency corresponding to the number of measurement color coordinates corresponding to the coordinates. The operation part 5d collates the measurement data with a plurality of sets of reference data in the storage part 5a to determine reference data corresponding to the measurement data, thereby determining discrimination information related to the reference data.
