RUBBING METHOD AND DEVICE, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING OPTICAL FILM USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly rub a coated film sheet without causing planar defects to the sheet even when a rubbing roller is disposed across the width direction of the coated film sheet at a predetermined angle for rubbing.

SOLUTION: In a rubbing method in which while running a beltlike sheet 14 with a coated part 14A formed on a surface thereof except both ends in the width direction of the surface as uncoated parts 14B, the surface of the beltlike sheet 14 is wound on a rotating rubbing roller 20 and rubbed, the width of a rubbing cloth 50 formed on the surface of the rubbing roller 20 in a predetermined width is set so that the whole of a contact area between the rubbing cloth 50 and the surface of the beltlike sheet 14 is kept within the area of the coated part 14A of the beltlike sheet 14.
