<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device capable of preventing ambient light reflected between layers of insulating films on a light-transmitting substrate from being incident on an optical sensor. <P>SOLUTION: In an element substrate 10 of the electro-optical device 100, the optical sensor 310 is formed on a region outside a pixel region 10b, and the optical sensor 310 is formed between an underlayer protective film 12 and a gate insulating film 2 formed on the light-transmitting substrate 10d. From among the light emitted from a backlight device 600, although the light emitted in an oblique direction may possibly be reflected between layers of interlayer insulating films 7, 8 and a light shielding film 11a and travel toward the optical sensor 310, such ambient light is shielded by a light shielding film 6k formed inside a through-hole 7k. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
