PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel for fishing having an operation part installed at an easily operable position separated from hand fingers for gripping and holding the reel body. SOLUTION: The reel for fishing is equipped with a side plate 3 on the left side mounted through a ring member 4, a slender O-ring and a thick O-ring on the outside of a frame part 1b on the left side of the frame 1 and demountable from the frame 1. The center a' of a rotation brake body 6 for regulating the brake force of a brake apparatus is installed in a position deviated to an upper side b and to the rear c of the center a of the side plate 3 on the left side on the side opposite to a handle so as to enable rotation operation. The operation part 6a of the rotation brake body 6 is inserted into a circular arc-like guide hole 3g perforated in the side plate 3 on the left side on the side opposite to the handle and projected to the surface of the side plate 3 on the left side.
