The invention relates to a method and system for reducing the proliferati on of electronic messages. An electronic message or a portion thereof is tra nsmitted by the server system. A spam notification signal may be received re lated to the electronic message or the portion thereof. Access to said elect ronic message is restricted solely in response to receiving the spam notific ation signal.
