<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving force controller for vehicles capable of performing stable motor torque control in combination with a generator and an alternating current motor. <P>SOLUTION: The driving force controller for vehicles supplies a generated output of a generator 7 driven by an internal combustion engine for driving a main driving wheel to an alternating current motor 4 through an inverter 9, controls an output voltage of the inverter 9 by rectangular wave control or PWM control with fixed modulation rate in accordance with an optimal operating point corresponding to a motor torque command value, and controls the field magnet of the generator so as to be an output of the generator 7 corresponding to the optimal operating point. The upper limit optimal operating point and the lower limit optimal operating point of the optimal operating point are calculated on the basis of a power generating state, and the optimal operating point is controlled between the upper limit optimal operating point and the lower limit optimal operating point. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
