PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an optical scanner compact by preventing protrusion of screws to the outside of a frame. SOLUTION: The optical scanner is provided with: a frame having a bottom wall; a laser diode 11 which emits light in the direction along the bottom wall of the frame; a coupling lens which condenses the light emitted from the laser diode 11; an oscillation mirror which changes the reflected direction of the light which passes through the coupling lens; a boss for holding member which is erected from the bottom wall of the frame toward the inside of the frame and has a screw hole; a screw which is screwed to the screw hole at the top; and a first holding member 15 which has a first wall 15a which is fixed to the boss for holding member with a screw and a second wall 15b which is extended from the first wall 15a toward the bottom wall and supports the laser diode 11.
