PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition for a tire tread having high anti-blowout properties and grip performance. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for tire tread comprises (A) a styrene-butadiene rubber having a Tg of≥-45°C, (B) 30-150 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the component (A) of a low-molecular weight styrene-butadiene copolymer having a bonding styrene content of≥25 wt.% and <40 mass% and a weight-average molecular weight of 2,000-20,000, (C)≥5 pts.wt. and <20 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the component (A) of silica, (D) carbon black having a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area of >250 m<SP>2</SP>/g in an amount to give the total amount of the component (D) and the component (C) based on 100 pts.wt. of the component (A) of 80-150 pts.wt. and (E) 1.0-5.0 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the component (A) of sulfur in the weight ratio of the component (E) to the component (B) mixed of 0.02-0.04.
