<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle headlight of a parabola type which, while a bulb is being driven at a driving voltage enough to generate a halogen cycle in a bulb at a daytime running lamp, an optimal light distribution pattern is formed. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle headlight is provided with a light source 11 having a halogen bulb and a reflection surface 12 of which the central axis is arranged alongside a light irradiating direction and which has a concave paraboloid shape facing a front side, a focusing position is positioned near a light source 11, and the light source is provided with two light emitting portions 11a, 11b positioned in front and rear alongside the light axis and the first light emitting portion 11a is positioned near the focusing position of the reflection surface, and, moreover, the light source is provided with a light shielding member 11c for shielding a light emitted downward from the first light emitting portion, and the light source is arranged so that the first light emitting portion 11a can emit light when it functions as a headlight and the second light emitting portion 11b can emit light when it functions as a daytime running lamp. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
