PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase interruption detector of a three-phase AC power supply for reducing the number of components, allowing use of low withstand voltage components, and reducing a cost. SOLUTION: The phase interruption detector 2 comprises: bidirectional photo couplers 12, 22, 32 having light-emitting elements 12A, 22A, 32A connected between respective phases in the three-phase AC power supply 1; and a control means 3 for determining a phase interruption in the three-phase AC power supply 1 based on pulse detection signals obtained by turning on light receiving elements 12B, 22B, 32B in the bidirectional photo coupler 12, 22, 32. The control means 3 determines the existence of the phase interruption in each phase based on whether the first, second and third pulse detection signals are generated or not.
