PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable radio unit and battery charger adjusting the frequency variation due to temporal change of a reference frequency signal generation source in a portable radio unit of a crystal oscillator, etc. with a simple method. SOLUTION: A high-stability oscillator (e.g., oven controlled crystal oscillator OCXO) is built in the battery charger. When charging a battery built in the portable radio unit, an OCXO oscillation signal is compared with a local oscillation signal built in the portable radio unit, and a local oscillator is controlled in such a way that a frequency error between them becomes zero.
