PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect and report the non-carrying state of a portable slave unit and a portable master unit, and to prevent it from being neglected. SOLUTION: A portable slave unit 2 where a nurse call slave unit is provided with a radio transmission/reception part 18 for performing radio communication with a nurse call master unit is provided with: a call button 14 for calling a nurse; a microphone 11 and a speaker 12 for a telephone call; and a state detection part 22 having a temperature sensor 23a for detecting carrying/non-carrying; a touch sensor 24a for detecting the contact of a human body; a motion sensor 25a for detecting the change of periphery; and a swinging sensor 26a for detecting its own movement. When a neglect signal output based on those sensor signals is continuously output in a predetermined time, it is judged that the portable slave unit 2 is put in a non-carrying state under the control of a CPU 17, and a warning sound is issued from the speaker 12.
