PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a start time since power is supplied to a digital broadcast receiving device until the output of a video and a voice is started without causing the sharp increase of power consumption. SOLUTION: When the power is supplied to the digital broadcast receiving device, a demultiplexing part 102 obtains a TS packet relating to narrow band broadcasting from a TS packet extracted by a demodulating part 101, and a main microcomputer 110 extracts an elementary stream from the TS packet relating to the narrow band broadcasting obtained by the demultiplexing part 102 and decodes it. A digital broadcast receiving device executes the reproduction of the video and the voice relating to the narrow band broadcasting by using video data and voice data decoded by the main microcomputer 110 until the reproduction of the video and the voice relating to wide band broadcasting using the video data and voice data decoded by the AV decoder 104 is started.
