The invention relates to a heat exchanger, particularly a waste gas heat exchanger, or a charge air cooler, having at least one pipe made of a light metal (1), particularly aluminum, or an aluminum alloy, wherein a medium flows through the pipe, and a turbulence insert is disposed in the pipe. In order to create a heat exchanger, which has a long service life and is simple to produce, the turbulence insert is made of steel (4) and is soldered to the pipe made of light metal (1).
