ENDLESS BELT GRINDING TOOL

An endless belt grinding tool includes a tension bar (18) having a front portion (18-3) and a rear portion (18-4) that are split portions arranged in a front to rear relationship in a tubular holding section (16). The front portion (18-3) and the rear portion (18-4) are pressed to be in contact with each other, with an endless grinding belt (22) wrapped around both a drive pulley (14) and an idle pulley (20) and tensioned by a spring (24). The endless belt grinding tool has an engagement member (26) which, when the tension bar (18) is pushed into the tubular holding member (16), engages with the rear portion (18-4) of the tension bar (18) and retains the rear portion (18-4) at a position to which the tension bar is pushed in against urging force of the spring (24). Even if the tension bar, which is being pushed in with the grinding belt removed, accidentally jumps out of position, possible damage is minimized.
