<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing device for images deciding on the backlight of an image data. <P>SOLUTION: A luminance containing 1% of the total of all pixels is used as a first luminance, the brightness obtained by adding 40 to the first luminance as a second one and the luminance obtained, by adding 50 to the first luminance as a third one by an integration from a luminance histogram preparing section, a blue histogram preparation section and the low luminance side of the histogram of a luminance signal. When a value, obtained by integrating the second luminance of the histogram of the luminance signal reaches 20% or higher and the value obtained by integrating the third luminance reaches 65% or lower in this case, the device for processing the image is constituted of a low-luminance side decision section, deciding the image data as a backlight image and a high-brightness side decision section for deciding the image data as the backlight image, when the value obtained by the integration from 200 of the histogram of the luminance signal to a maximum luminance reaches 16% or higher. The device for processing the image is further constituted of a blue decision section for deciding the image data as the backlight image, when the value obtained by the integration from 200 of the histogram of a blue signal to a maximum gradation reaches 14% or higher and a luminance correction section correcting the luminance signals of all pixels. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
