PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently collect ink discharged to a spare discharge port into a plurality of waste ink tanks by selecting the spare discharge port, thereby prolonging the lifetime of the main body, and to make the exchange of the waste ink tank efficient by a user or a service man with respect to an inkjet recording device. SOLUTION: The amount of ink collected into a plurality of waste ink tanks connected from the spare discharge port is controlled by including the plurality of spare discharge ports which is positioned to carry out spare discharge recovery, by including the plurality of waste ink tanks for collecting ink discharged outside of a recording medium and selectively using the plurality of spare discharge ports. This enables the waste ink tank to be efficiently used, the lifetime of the main body to be prolonged and exchange of the waste ink tank to be efficiently carried out. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
