PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry efficiently individual packages (works) 4 formed by cutting an seal-off substrate 1, and improve efficiently the productivity of products (works 4). SOLUTION: In the work carrying method and apparatus, coaxial driving pulleys 11, 12, 13 having three kinds of different diameters are rotated and driven at a required angle by a rotational driving mechanism 14. Further, running belts 19, 20, 21 where driving pulleys 11, 12, 13 and driven pulleys 16, 17, 18 are respectively subjected to parallel applications are moved by a required distance. Moreover, engaged moving members 24a, 25a, 26a of the packages, which are stuck on the approach-route-running-side belts, and engaged moving members 24b, 25b, 26b of the packages, which are stuck on the return-route-running-side belts, are moved. Thereby, an engaged fastening member 23 of the packages which is interposed between these engaged moving members stuck on both the sides is used as a center to expand the interval interposed between these engaged moving members stuck on both the sides and to carry the packages 4.
