PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit breaker capable of housing a flexible conductor in a small space, of achieving downsizing of the circuit breaker, and moreover, of suppressing increase in joining work even when two pieces of flexible conductors are used in order to secure current carrying capacity. SOLUTION: In the circuit breaker equipped with a movable contact piece 23 to open and close the main circuit, a switching mechanism part 24 in order to drive the movable contact piece 23, and the flexible conductor 27 to connect a stationary conductor 25 and the movable contact piece 23 constituting a part of the main circuit, a drawn-out direction of the flexible conductor 27 from the stationary conductor 25 or the movable contact piece 23 is the direction approximately orthogonal to the moving plane of the movable contact piece 23. The flexible conductor 27 is drawn out to the direction that is approximately orthogonal to the moving plane of the movable contact piece 23, and then folded back and housed.
