The present invention relates to a method for pre-filling a low-pressure storage device ( 14 ) of a motor vehicle braking system ( 17 ), having a changeover valve ( 8 ), a hydraulic pump ( 9 ), an outlet valve ( 13 ), and a low-pressure storage device ( 14 ) situated in a suction line of the hydraulic pump ( 9 ). The low-pressure storage device ( 14 ) can be pre-filled in a particularly simple and low-noise manner if the actuation of the foot brake pedal ( 1 ) is monitored using a sensor mechanism and, when there is an actuation, the changeover valve ( 8 ) is closed in order to lock in the braking pressure acting on the wheel brake ( 11 ), and at least one of the outlet valves is opened in order to release the braking pressure into the low-pressure storage device ( 14 ).
