PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate lay-out of a carriage travelling route so as to cross a path for vehicles in a transport device using a carriage comprising a liftable transport material support base to be controlled by a floor side cam rail. SOLUTION: An unlocking cam driven roller 44 of an automatic locking means for locking the transport material support base 11 in a lifting-limit position is arranged higher than a transporting carriage support level L of a guide rail 2a, and a cam driven roller 32 for lifting the transport material support base 11 is positioned higher than the transporting carriage support level L when the transport material support base 11 is positioned in the lifting-limit position. A crossing path floor materials are laid in a crossing area of the carriage travelling route and the path in the same level with the transporting carriage support level L, and cam rails 50 and 52 for pushing up the transport material support base 11 to the lifting-limit position is laid before the path crossing area so that the transporting carriage 1 can pass through in such a state that the transport material support base 11 is positioned in the lifting-limit position in the path crossing area.
