<p>An applied light power adjusting method includes a first recording step, a first reproduction step, a first measurement step, a bias power decision step, and a recording power decision step. In the first recording step, the recording power is fixed to a predetermined first power value while the bias power is changed to a plurality of second power values within a predetermined range, so that an adjusting pattern is recorded on an optical information recording medium. In the first reproduction step, the recorded adjusting pattern is reproduced and a reproduction signal is generated. In the first measurement step, an asymmetry value corresponding to the plurality of second power values are measured. In the bias power decision step, an optimal bias power value is decided according to the asymmetry value. In the recording power decision step, an optical recording power value is decided according to the optimal bias power value.</p> |
