<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system allowing a variety of devices connected to a network to mutually flexibly handle information necessary to predict a processing time required for conversion into a bitmap image from image data independent of print resolution. <P>SOLUTION: During document generation, a processing amount necessary to convert the image data into the bitmap image is calculated as an index, and the calculated processing amount index is associated and held as additional information of the image data.
