PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a space saving and energy saving type combined machining machine and a method for carrying a workpiece. SOLUTION: In this combined machining machine, each of a plurality of machining machines MC1 to 4 having a main spindle 2 to attach/detach a tool is disposed to independently and reciprocatively move in a workpiece carrying direction via a guide means 11 in relation to a bed 10, and provided are: driving means 31, 32 and 33 to independently and reciprocatively move each of the main spindle 2; and the machining machines MC1 to 4 and magazines 41 and 42 to store the tool. The machining machine is provided with a table 6 mounted with a workpiece W thereon, and a carrying arm 5 attachably/detachably mounted on the main spindle 2 to carry the workpiece W and stored in the magazine 42. The workpiece W is carried by mounting the carrying arm 5 on the main spindle 2 and moving the main spindle 2 in the carrying direction by the driving means 31, 32 and 33.
