PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable terminal equipment for starting a function corresponding to the posture of at least either a first casing or a second casing with the change of the opening/closing states of the first casing and the second casing as a trigger. SOLUTION: When the change of the opening/closing states of a first casing and a second casing is detected by an opening/closing sensor 111 incorporated in portable terminal equipment where the first casing and the second casing are connected so as to be freely openable/closeable, the change of the posture of either the first casing or the second casing is detected by a posture sensor 110, and the classification information of the function to be started corresponding to the detected posture is read from the storage part, and the function is started by a control part 113.
