PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily facilitate countermeasures to the change of the type of content or ambient rays of light or the like, and to simplify adjustment. SOLUTION: This image display device is configured to generate a plurality of picture data for original comparison by applying different picture quality adjustment parameters to input image data, and to generate picture data for comparison showing a picture for comparison by synthesizing a plurality of pictures to which different picture quality adjustment parameters have been applied on the basis of generated picture data for original comparison, and to display the picture for comparison on the basis of the generated picture data for comparison, and to select any picture from among a plurality of pictures to which the different picture quality adjustment parameters included in the picture for comparison have been applied, and to define the picture quality adjustment parameter applied to the selected picture as a set picture quality adjustment parameter, and to generate and display a picture quality adjustment picture by applying the set picture quality adjustment parameter to the input image.
