PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with the working of a door surface, a wall surface, etc., and to make operations efficient without requiring much labor for entrance into/exit from a room. SOLUTION: An outdoor-side handle 1A is integrally provided with an antenna portion 2a of a reader 2 which reads data, prestored in a noncontact IC card and required for the opening/shutting of a lock, in a noncontact state. An indoor-side handle 1B is integrally provided with an operating device 3 which has a manual operation button 3a for providing instructions on the opening or shutting of the lock. A control portion 4 outputs a signal for providing the instructions on the opening or shutting of the lock, and outputs a signal for providing the instructions on the opening or shutting of the lock from the operating device 3, when performing normal authentication by determining the validity of the data of the noncontact IC card, received by the antenna portion 2a of the reader 2. The electric lock 5 is controlled to be opened or shut, depending on the signal for providing the instructions on locking or unlocking from the control portion 4, the present opened/shut state of the lock, and the present opened/closed state of the door.
