PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slot machine capable of giving an expectation to a player by improving entertainment property; and a playing method of the slot machine. SOLUTION: When symbols to be a winning combination are aligned in either of slot games executed in a slot game area A2-A11 designated by a player with a touching operation out of slot game areas A2-A11 on a liquid crystal display panel 17, this slot machine opens a video shutter 19 closing a slot game area A1, to expose rotary reels 3A-3C, and executes a slot game in the slot game area A1. When finishing the slot game, the video shutter 19 is closed to hide the rotary reels 3A-3C.
